Eligibility gates
Deterministic, instant, free — the pipeline's own prefilter verdicts on today's real postings. No tokens spent saying no.
Remote-listed
The posting itself has to say remote. Not "flexible", not "hybrid-friendly" — the pipeline reads what the employer actually wrote, because a role that turns out to be on-site three days a week is a rejection you find out about in week four.
Region-eligible
Work authorization is checked against where the role can legally be performed. A Canadian PR without US authorization does not get shown US-only roles, however good the match would otherwise look.
Title in scope
The title has to sit inside the bands the candidate is actually searching. This is the cheapest gate and it removes the most: it costs nothing to run and no tokens are spent saying no.
Live scoring
The gate survivors go to Claude with JobScout's honest rubric. The needle is the score: fit 0–100 sweeps 270°, and the band it lands on selects the route — auto ≥80, ping 70–79, unsure 55–69, near-miss below.
